It made me think to podcasts in the past where I had heard Will Harris's story from White Oak Pastures www.whiteoakpastures.com. If you have not heard his story it is a good listen. I have heard him on the Permaculture Voices Podcast and The Farm Report podcast. He had a conventional farming operation and has transitioned back to the way his ancestors farmed, except he has grown it into a modern state of the art enterprise with USDA inspected abattoirs. It is an inspiring listen if you have the time. I have purchased his products at the local Publix, but feel that it is better to buy from the local farmers I know. It made me think of him because he used to send his cows off to feedlots like this.
Some days you think you have a bad day and God shows you actual suffering. Maybe most don't believe the animals actual suffer, but I don't believe that shipping animals across the country is the way nature intended. I don't understand the economic model that requires cows to be shipped to feed lots. Please purchase locally raised grass fed beef if you have the means to do so.
It is hard to tell from the picture, but there is a cow staring out. All the traffic in the side mirror is depressing as well. I don't think that is what God intended either.
