Last night we ordered some flowers for Kacy's new venture she is going to begin. Faith Flowers is the name she has decided on. Look for flowers to be coming from us in the next year or so. It was exciting looking at all the different types of day lilies there are. We decided on around 10 different types to begin our adventure. I look forward to their arrival and what we can make of them. Kacy originally did not like day lilies, but our new house has an old plant and she has loved it. Now we will see if we can get them to grow all over.
Two weeks ago I worked in the Community Garden. It was good to remove all the tomatoes and weed the garden. There was a large pumpkin growing and several smaller pumpkins. Hopefully these will continue. The turnips looked good while we there, but everything else was suspect. I had planted an impatien near the green beans because I heard this repelled rabbits. I can say this was not the case and it appeared the rabbits had actually eaten the impatien. The net fencing we have been using had several holes eaten in it by the rabbits.
It is pepper season at home and at the Community Garden. We are getting lots of peppers and I have frozen quite a few cut up gallons of peppers. We have pickled peppers and we are using them fresh. Just a month and a half ago I worried that I wouldn't get enough peppers and now I have enough to last until the end of next year. It is funny how I forget that peppers really turn on in September.
