The past week has been a great week for production. I only watered once in the three weeks we went without rain. The plants were really set back during that time, but since last weeks rain it has been really green around here. My favorite this year has been okra. This week I have gone out first thing and found okra ready and then when I get home there has been more ready. It has been amazing and that is one reason I love okra. The other reason I love okra is because it is so good. Last year was the first time I grew okra. We fried it and it was good, but there was always a mess. I would have to season my cast iron skillet every time and after the first batch the skillet was caked and we always needed more than one batch. This year I decided to heat some oil and throw in some okra and onions just to try it myself. It was great. My wife and the kids loved. They even asked for more. So we have it at least once a week. I have added other vegetables as well like sweet peppers and squash. Whatever is available is great. So try it tomorrow. It is amazing. Here is to a long successful rest of the season.
